23rd Biennial of Design: Design Relations is on view at the Museum of Architecture and Deisgn in Fužine Castle in Ljubljana. The author of the exhibition display is reknown Dutch designer Joost van Bleiswijk, the author of the BIO 23 visual identity is Slovenian studio Kabinet01.

23rd Biennial of Design opening and presentation of awards

On 27 September 2012  the exhibition of 23rd Biennial of Design opening has been opened and the BIO design awards has been bestowed. The international jury consisting of Giulio Cappellini, Sven Jonke, Sophie Lovell, Jimmy MacDonald and Vasa J. Perović  has selected this year’s best works exhibited at BIO 23. The BIO Gold Medal supported with a grant provided by the sponsor of award, Petrol, has been received by the Sea Chair, also recipient of BIO Green Award.

The list of BIO 23 exhibitors are published

The Museum of Architecture and Design (MAO) will open on 27 September 2012 the 23rd biennial of Design, one of the most comprehensive international exhibitions of contemporary design in Slovenia and Central Europe. This year’s renewed BIO 23 features fresh, surprising, innovative, and even revolutionary products, ideas, and concepts that are considered exceptional achievements of original vision in today’s world.

The works for BIO 23 have been chosen

For the 23rd Biennial of Design international call for entries the Museum for Architecture and Design received 437 submissions from 38 countries. The BIO curators Margo Konings and Margriet Vollenberg of the Dutch studio Organisation in Design made their selection for BIO 23 based on the concept, on their expertise in contemporary design and their experienced eye for good design and chose 90 submissions from 27 countries.
