01AUGdogodekTea Drinking Ceremony at KraterDespite the ecological renaissance which places sustainability at the heart of public ethics, the contemporary administrative frameworks in Slovenia still seem to restrain the proliferation of regenerative material cultures. As one of the production platforms of the biennial, the Krater collective, in dialogue with Atelier LUMA and BC Architects, has researched rammed earth architecture and locally sourced building materials. Materials such as clay, wood or straw bales are either imported from abroad, and consequently too expensive for most, or used in construction illegally. As the legislation currently stands, local landscapes seem to appear as forbidden vernaculars.
